FEBRUARY STILL LIFE. 2018. February walks a line between winter and spring. The Christmas Cactus has finished blooming. A Valentine's rose remains. Forced branches of Bradford pears anticipate the coming spring. And a brave daffodil breaks forth, planted a hundred years ago by a woman whose name I do not know. But every year I pick her flowers in the yard I inherited with gratitude.

About Gina Harrison
Gina Harrison is a NC artist, graphic designer, musician, and arts ed advocate. She received her BFA in studio art, with an emphasis in printmaking, from UNC-Chapel Hill. Her recent work has been exhibited in Pittsboro, Durham, Cary, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and Wilmington, NC. She served as president of the Chatham Artists Guild and is a past president of the Chatham Arts Council. She recently completed two terms as a board member of Arts NC, the statewide advocacy organization for the arts.
