Artist's Description

RUFFLES. 2018. Azaleas are synonymous with the Southern spring landscape, having been first grown in South Carolina in the 1830s. This is likely a Southern Indica variety like Magnifica, with large pink flowers, blooming in the dappled light beneath pine trees in a shady garden.

Gina Harrison

Gina Harrison is a NC artist, graphic designer, musician, and arts ed advocate. She received her BFA in studio art, with an emphasis in printmaking, from UNC-Chapel Hill. Her recent work has been exhibited in Pittsboro, Durham, Cary, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and Wilmington, NC. She served as president of the Chatham Artists Guild and is a past president of the Chatham Arts Council. She recently completed two terms as a board member of Arts NC, the statewide advocacy organization for the arts.
