SUPPLICATION 1. 2018. Abstract design, part of a series, referencing a modern interpretation of Bach's chorale, Come, Sweet Death. Rhonda Sandberg's arrangement begins with a traditional presentation of the chorale. Singers repeat the chorale with gestures and then once more with each singer determining their own tempo. It is eerie, tortuous, pleading, and chaotic like some vision of end time until the final cadence when the singers return to a common meter.
Gina Harrison is a NC artist, graphic designer, and arts ed advocate. She received her BFA in studio art, with an emphasis in printmaking, from UNC-Chapel Hill. Her recent work has been exhibited in Pittsboro, Durham, Cary, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and Wilmington, NC. She served as president of the Chatham Artists Guild from 2021 through 2022. She is past president of the Chatham Arts Council and currently serves as a board member of Arts NC, the statewide advocacy organization for the arts.
